Master Key Wins Justice Contract

July 18, 2008
Department of Justice LogoBethesda, MD – “This is a big win!” exclaimed Jonathan Wilber, the owner and Chief Executive Officer of Master Key Consulting as he announced the company’s successful bid to the U.S. Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs (OJP). Master Key will provide Information Technology Management Services to the Office of the Chief Information Officer at OJP. The contract is a five year award with a value of more than $16.9 Million.

This is the second time the company has re-competed for this work as a prime contractor. Wilber stated, “Our success with this competition is particularly exciting for us. The government procured this work under the GSA IT 70 Schedule as a full and open competition. We were competing against some very large federal contractors – to win is a great accomplishment for our on site team and our business development staff.”

For two consecutive years, Master Key Consulting has been ranked on the Top 100 List of GWAC Contractors (Government Wide Acquisition Contract).

Wilber said “We’ve made significant changes in the way we do business since 2006 and those changes have been successful. For example, we’ve invested in our infrastructure and in our sales and marketing tools while government discretionary spending in the areas that we specialize has remained flat. We’ve invested in leadership for our projects and at our corporate office by hiring credentialed professionals who have helped us to build repeatable processes which are crucial to quality. We’ve hired Business Development professionals who are experienced in the science of Federal business capture and they have brought a laser focus to our business development functions. I’m confident that all of these investments and the outstanding work of our OJP team helped us to win – even against some large competitors.”

Master Key began operations in December of 2000 with three employees. Since that time the company has won contracts with the Federal Government valued at over $100 Million. Currently, the company employs more than 140 individuals in eleven states and the District of Columbia on multiple commercial and Federal projects that include the Environmental Protection Agency, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, the Departments of Education, Justice, Health and Human Services, and Homeland Security.
